What is an EcoSmart Business?
An EcoSmart Business takes a holistic view of their business. Whilst being profit driven, the business is equally conscientious about its impact on the environment, local community and societies in which it operates. Fundamentally an EcoSmart Business recognises that small business has a role to play in addressing climate change impacts at a local level.
How environmentally friendly is each EcoSmart Business?
After completing the EcoSmart Business Program, each business is rated according to the reduction (or off-set) of greenhouse gas emissions they achieve. Each business is awarded an EcoSmart Business rating and given an EcoSmart Business rating logo. This logo can be used to distinguish between various EcoSmart Businesses.
